This beautiful antique silver tribal Prayer Box or Protective Amulet is from Rajasthan, India. These pieces are commissioned by the wearer and contain prayers or sayings written on parchment and sealed within the box. Many of these old pieces have small holes drilled in them so the parchment could be removed. Interesting and unusual piece.
